Understanding the underlying structure and basic rhythms of the music that we dance to can greatly enhance your dance experience. As dancers, many of us have an intuitive understanding of the music, but taking a look at how the music is constructed can help us to internalize the music and see how the steps fit with the rhythms.
In this class, we will break down basic rythyms such as Baladi, Ayoob, Chiftetelli, and Maqsoom as well as taking a look at how the steps fit with the rhythms. Bringing finger cymbals or a hand drum is recommended. (SSCE, limit 50 students)
